The Nike Air Zoom Spiridon Signal Blue is back for 2025, and Nike kept things pretty faithful to the original 1997 release. This colorway was one of the standouts when the Spiridon first dropped, and seeing it return is a nice callback to the late ‘90s era of running shoes that had a futuristic edge. The standout tech here is Zoom Air, much like the SB Dunk.
The shoe sticks to the OG look with a Signal Blue mesh upper, which has that signature shimmer under the right lighting. The metallic silver piping outlines the panels, while the red mini-Swoosh on the toe pops just enough without being over the top. The chrome side Swoosh is a nice touch, tying in with the aesthetic Nike was going for with the Spiridon back in the ‘90s.
Compared to the Metallic Red/Black/White pair, which was also an option, I ended up going with these thanks to a discount code from Darkside Initiative. The bright blue just feels more unique, and I figured I’d get more wear out of them. Nike did a good job keeping these close to the original release, and they still feel like a slept-on model compared to more hyped retros.
These come in a black Nike box, nothing fancy but clean. They’re laced up with white rope-style laces, which help balance out the blue and silver tones.
Materials
This isn’t a shoe you pick up for premium materials, but the build is solid. The upper is all synthetic, mostly mesh with a TPU-like rand wrapping around the bottom. It’s lightweight and breathable, which makes sense for a shoe that was originally designed for runners. The construction seems on point—no obvious glue stains or QC issues on my pair.
Fit & Comfort
The Spiridon was one of the earlier Nike runners to feature Zoom Air, and while it’s not as bouncy as modern setups, the cushioning is still decent. The midsole reminds me of the Air Zoom Alpha, another ‘90s Nike model with similar tech.
As for fit, these are snug at true to size. The shape hugs the foot well, but if you have wide feet, you might want to go half a size up since they lean a little narrow. Personally, I stuck with my usual size, and they fit just right after a short break-in period.
If these are sold out online, you can try looking for them on eBay.
